Description

Partners will define and compile the best practices on adult peer training within the probation field. Peer training is widely practiced, within the community, for different topics and purposes. The usage of the peer training methods within prison and probation systems, in Europe, will be the main focus.

Definition and compilation of the best practices on pro-social modeling approach in the Probation field. The usage of this method (peer training) in prison and probation systems will be the main focus.

Description

The curriculum will consist on a comprehensive and structured course that will be a guideline for both trainers and supervisors of the pro-social model trainer offenders. The target will be experts that later will train and supervise the selected offenders. The curriculum will provide practical recommendations, covering topics such as training and assessment methodologies on "Peer Training" subject.

Description

Development of a comprehensive "Peer Training Manual" fully focused on the andragogy, group leadership, peer groups' control, deal with challenging groups, training methods, provide feedback and assessment methods.
By providing a structured training programme, the project aims to train standardised offenders peer trainer groups, and subsequently to assess the efficiency of the newly developed system. The result of this Intellectual Output will be the development of a "Pro-Social Modeling" Manual. |

The fifth Intellectual Output consists in the development of a comprehensive "Pro-Social Modelling Manual" fully focused on the concept of Pro-Social Modeling. The aim of this IO is to develop a Manual that delivers the responsability of teaching life skills to the selected inmates.

Description
|
Led by IPS, this output will consist on a Train the trainer course for probation experts. These experts are going to act as the trainers of the selected offenders to be the "Peer Pro-Social Model". Different groups of offenders will be trained as trainers and can, therefore, train others.
This course will ensure dissemination and sustainability of the proposed approach. The train the trainer course will be piloted in probation context and fine-tuned after piloting feedback collection. |

Description
|
The newly trained probation experts will train, the poll of offenders, on how to be a peer trainer and on the contents of pro-social modelling. These offenders are going to act as the peer trainers of other offenders under probation. Monitoring and supervision will be made by the probation experts. The train the trainer course for offenders will be piloted in probation context and fine-tuned after piloting feedback collection.

These trainer offenders will act as peer trainers of the group work, whose attendants are offenders under probational measures. Description
|
Pilot course (a complete programme) will be delivered in each country (Turkey, Portugal and Romania). The trainees will be the offenders under probation, a group of at least 12 participants per country. The project partners will be responsible for implementing the pilot in their countries. Evaluation tools will be used for monitoring, programme fine tuning and piloting validation requirements.
